More Work on Nursery

We've done a little more work on the nursery - installed some shelves, had window treatments made and installed yesterday morning. It's coming together!

Baby Shower

Tracy, Judy, Jan and Barb organized and hosted a lovely baby shower on March 6, 2010, and I cannot thank them enough! Thanks, too, to all family and friends that were able to be a part of the day! We were lucky to have great Spring weather in early March and the day was just perfect and completely wore me out.

Below are some pics:

Headed to the shower - thanks, Kelly, for traveling all the way from Oklahoma!

Awesome, awesome cake. Note belly-button detail.

So many thoughtful gifts - the Baby's drawers are stuffed and we are READY!!

LOVED opening this gift. In this photo, it's not put back together as well as it came, where all you could see is the top blanket covering something - or things...

But THIS is what it turned into as I started opening it (and this photo only shows part of the laundry line)! Blankets, toys, diapers, booties, sleepers, clothes, burpcloths, washcloths, towels, etc., etc. and a bottle of wine!! SO CUTE!!

Family picture. Cheeks are especially troublesome here.

GREAT DAY!!

The Evolution of my Pregnant Face

You expect your belly to get bigger. (I'm now to the point where I'm praying my belly button manages to remain sealed and not split apart, releasing whatever is now behind there.)

You expect other parts of your body to enlarge as well. Check!

But my face has, perhaps, been most disturbing to me...

Ahhhh... August 30, 2009. Though my face has always been big, it seems to be as in proportion with my body as it will ever get in this photo.

October 10, 2009 - getting bigger. Good choice to wear my hair in a ponytail and accentuate its fullness! I am still doing that! Why??

November 17, 2009 - bigger still. A swollen face with which to meet The Pioneer Woman! I was even showing some, and she didn't notice. She probably just thought I had a beer gut and gigantic cheeks.
Now, I don't have any pictures of me between December and March, and for good reason! But then I had a beautiful shower on March 6, 2010, and my family (but mostly Aunt Jan) and friends took about a million pictures throughout the entire day, and I couldn't say "no." Well, I did, but they didn't listen.
Sadly, I am having to throw out about 95% of all pictures of me from this day, keeping a precious few for memories that I know I'll someday treasure.
But not now:
Because by March 6, 2010 - JEEZ!!
And this is a "good" one!!! What next month will bring - I cannot imagine.

Work on the Nursery

We started working on the nursery after the Christmas stuff came down early January. For a true before-and-after, I should have taken a picture of the office before we started emptying the room, ripping down old wallpaper and taking down old window treatments, but I didn't think about it.

Two 6-ft. bookshelves jam-packed with books, frames and other miscellaneous stuff had to be packed up, a desk full of crap, tv, computer, hanging files and futon all had to come out of this little room. That all took a while. Then, the walls (in this old house) had to be textured, sanded, primed and painted. While I wanted to get this done quickly, my energy level did not have the same enthusiasm. I think we were finally finished with painting at the beginning of March!

There's still decorative things to do - stuff on the walls, new window treatments, a lamp, etc. - but I love it and I think it's going to be darling when (and IF) we ever finish!

Catching Up - A Four Month Blur

After the first trimester seemed to drag by ever so slowly, the second and third trimesters of the pregnancy have advanced at a pace I can't seem to keep up with. The weeks are rushing by and all of a sudden there's only SIX to go!

If that many. This little girl is so active, I can't imagine she has the patience to stay in there the whole 40 weeks. I will be shocked if she makes it - she is already way too demanding. Where does she GET that from??

Anyway...we hung an ornament on the Christmas tree in her honor.

Video: 20-Week Ultrasound (5) - Busy Girl

Just some more movements. Probably only fascinating to us, but I'll post anyway.

Baby Girl shopping began fast and furious this weekend! So much fun...

Video: 20-Week Ultrasound (4) - Measurements

Here is more hands up near her face and then the sonographer measures the length of her foot (which converts to about 1 inch for the metric system challenged like me) and her crown-to-rump length, which converts to about 6 inches. The sonographer said the computer estimates her at just under a pound in weight.
